This beautiful creel was made by a member of the Chippewa Nation. The Chippewa lived in Southeast Canada and in the Northeast of the USA in the area of the Great Lakes. The creel is made from birch bark on a wood frame and has leather and birch branch details. This creel was featured in a Maine Antique Digest article as a great historical example Chippewa Indian creel.
