This Hardy “St John” reel was specially made to sell at Von Lengerke and Detmold Inc., a popular sporting goods store in the 1920s. Abercrombie and Fitch purchased VL&D in 1929. This “St John” is a rare 3 screw model. It has a smooth brass foot, and the drag is in nice working condition. The agate line guide has a crack and small chip at the base of the crack.
