Description
A nice old patented box from Malloch’s of Perth, Scotland. This box has stories to tell. It looks as though someone made a mistake and instead of tossing the Malloch’s plaque, they stamped over the number 1 with 61. Malloch’s didn’t have a box patented with No 1351. The outer has, some time ago, had someone’s name rubbed off and/or covered as well though it’s hard to see except in certain light. The inside is in good condition with some paint loss.
Inside the box are very old English salmon flies with upturned hooks, many have gut eyes including a gut leader.
Stamped into the metal plaque: Malloch’s, Patent No13561 (No1351 underneath)
The box measures 7″ x 4 1/4″ x 3/4″.
