Description

This is a very high quality set of Bamboo fly and spinning rods, made in Manchester, Vermont in the early 1960s. They come in a Teak wood case that is lined with green velvet. Included is an engravable plate and two keys for the case locks. A very rare and collectible set of rods.

This rod was a gift to George Homell Jr., who has been, for many years, a guide to George Bush Sr. in the Florida Keys. He was also the co-founder of World Wide Sportsman with the late Billy Pate in Islamorada, Florida.

Spin Rod marked: “Orvis Impregnated”, “Rocky Mountain Spinning”, 6 1/2′, 3 5/8 oz, 44709

Fly Rod marked: “Orvis Imprenated”, “Rocky Mountain”, 6 1/2′, 3 1/4 oz, H.D.G. (6), 44157

The numbers 44709 and 44157 are on each of the three pieces for each rod.
